Voltaware is pleased to share with you the case study with our partner, Italian utility Onda Piú. The new #EFFI100 bundle, powered by Voltaware, has enhanced engagement between Onda and its customers. This latest offering entails an initial deployment of 2,000 Voltaware sensors that have been relabeled with the Onda Più name, trademarks and logo to customersin Sicily and Sardinia. As part of the campaign, Onda Più has developed its own mobile app built on the existing Voltaware API platform. Voltaware’s advanced data analytics have helped Onda reduce customer churn and overall business costs while maintaining its brand identity.

Onda customers using EFFI100 benefit from real-time, high-resolution energy consumption data, which is collected by the white-labeled sensors and processed by Voltaware's proprietary machine learning algorithms that identify home appliances based on their unique electric signatures. This automatic disaggregation of load by device is key to helping customers better manage power use by providing an appliance-level visualization. It is a realistic tool to manage monthly power expenditure.
Appliance alerts are sent when unusual home energy activity or breakdowns are detected. This makes households safer and more secure, and indicates where maintenance may be needed, avoiding major costly repairs down the road. All of this translates into greater consumer awareness of their carbon footprint and helps them change their behaviour accordingly.
Also, white-labeled sensors powered by Voltaware can allow higher valued-added services, such as part of a solution to unobtrusively monitor older family members and loved ones.
Engaging customers and providing them with personalized energy information through a new interactive experience has made this initial launch by Onda Più a success. It has enhanced engagement with consumers, and promoted increased trust and loyalty, thus reducing customer churn and customer acquisition costs. These new services have established Onda Più as Italy’s home-energy innovator.
The initial phase has been so successful that Onda has expanded the rollout of its white-label sensors to an additional 10,000 customers. We look forward to further fruitful cooperation with Onda
