The Energia Positiva initiative has been launched by Enagás, Red Eléctrica, CLH, Iberdrola, BP, EIT InnoEnergy, Acciona, Capital Energy and DISA to alleviate the social and economical impact of Covid-19 on Spain. The platform has made 4M € available to invest in startups able to implement innovative solutions as quickly as possible.

Energia Positiva initiative

Voltaware is one of 12 startups to have been successfully selected to lead the initiative. Launched on the 7th April 2020, Energia Positiva received 396 proposals in under two weeks. As one of the winners, Voltaware will receive support to develop a project with the potential for rollout. Startups selected needed to demonstrate impact in key areas: social impact against COVID-19, decarbonisation, renewable energy, energy efficiency, storage, sustainable mobility and circular economy.

Voltaware is addressing the issue of social impact by empowering consumers with their utility bills, improving the safety and comfort of their home, and non-intrusively monitoring elderly and vulnerable people through electricity data.

Voltaware is also addressing the issue of decarbonisation and low carbon through helping individuals and businesses to become smarter consumers, understand their carbon footprint , and reduce the lack of transparency in energy bills- all of which leading to greater efficiency, greater environmental awareness and the reduction in greenhouse gas.

We are looking forward to starting rolling out our technology in Spain and supporting the response to COVID-19.
